  The Church That Serves

Main Focuses:
  • Inspirational Worship.
  • Empowering Leadership.
  • Small Groups (Cell Groups) that meet the needs holistically.

Why do we need Cell Groups?

Kejadian 1: 26 - 28 concludes that:
  • God's Trinity is a community.
  • Human is created according to God's image.
  • Great Commandment.

The purpose of Cell Groups

1. Practicing God's Way of Life.
  • Kejadian 1: 26 - 28 (God's Commandment).
  • The difference between humans and animals
  • God created human as a social being. It is our natural need to have or be in a community.
  • It will be easier for a Man to live in a community than by himself.

God did not just give us commands to be in a community, because He is a community.

    God's Trinity
    • God in 1 person means Power.
    • God in 2 persons means Love.
    • God in 3 persons means Community.
  • The devil knows this and he tries to destroy communities with sin.
  • Sin creates broken relationships between God & humans, and among humans themselves. This keeps us away from being in God's way of life.
  • Jesus restores by dying in the cross.
  • This underline the importance of community.

A Cell Group Community is not just another program in a church to serve its congregation, BUT also an effective method to reconcile with God and living the God's Way of Life.

2. Creating a place where God lives.
  • Community is God's nature.
  • God creates community so that He can effectively declare Himself through wisdom, forgiveness, love, and acceptance.

3. A tool for God to reach and win other community.
  • Adam & Eve had children.
  • Cell Groups as well have to multiply.

What is Cell Group or Cell Church?
  • Cell Groups are the Body of Christ (Church). Without a Cell Group, there will be no church.
  • Cell Groups are very important when we want to function efficiently and according to God's Will.

God's Vision of Church

Gereja Sel

1. Kelompok kecilnya sebagai unit dasar pembentuk gereja.

2. Kelompok kecilnya bermultiplikasi terus menerus.

3. Kelompok kecilnya berfungsi penuh sebagai Gereja Perjanjian Baru.

Kesimpulan: Kelompok kecilnya adalah gereja.
Gereja Dengan Sel

1. Kelompok kecilnya sebagai salah satu acara kegiatan "gereja" tersebut.

2. Kelompok kecilnya tidak harus bermultiplikasi.

3. Kelompok kecilnya hanya berfungsi dalam mencapai tujuan tertentu saja.

Kesimpulan: Kelompok kecilnya hanyalah acara penunjang.

The Cell Group's Agenda

1. Discipleship (Membina)
  • Equipped to Serve.
  • Discipleship in Cell Groups:
    • Systematically: program, books, etc.
    • Happen not just in Cell Groups but through relationship (accountability, mentorship).
    • Informal setup.
2. To Build & Serve (Membina & Melayani)
  • By supporting each other, we are preparing Cell Groups to be a place for God.
  • Servant mentality: "Christ can serve me through someone else and Christ can serve someone else through me".
3. Evangelism (Memenangkan Jiwa)
  • In order for our physical body to grow, cells have to multiply.
  • Same with Cell Groups: evangelize and multiply.
